Tal vez es por eso que no esper\u00e1bamos mucho, y tambi\u00e9n por qu\u00e9 salimos muy impresionados de nuestra visita a esta ciudad de Dalmacia central. De hecho, aunque \u0160ibenik no est\u00e1 a la altura de <strong>Split<\/strong> o <strong>Dubrovnik<\/strong>, creo que es tan impresionante como las ciudades mucho m\u00e1s populares de <strong>Trogir<\/strong> y <strong>Zadar.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00bfQu\u00e9 hace que \u0160ibenik sea impresionante? La Catedral y una de las plazas m\u00e1s bonitas de Croacia<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>\u0160ibenik es principalmente conocida por su Catedral, la Catedral de St. James (Katedrala Sv Jakova). Es un sitio del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO construido por los venecianos en el siglo XV (y en el siglo XVI porque tom\u00f3 m\u00e1s de 100 a\u00f1os completarlo) y est\u00e1 hecho completamente de piedra. De hecho, es la \u00fanica catedral europea construida solo con piedra. El exterior de la catedral es magn\u00edfico y la pieza central de una de las plazas m\u00e1s hermosas que hemos visto en Croacia. Al otro lado de la plaza se encuentra el Ayuntamiento, un edificio renacentista del siglo XVI que parece sacado de Venecia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter Fortalezas<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>\u0160ibenik tiene 4 fortalezas: 3 en la ciudad (todas con excelentes vistas) y 1 a unos pocos kil\u00f3metros que protegen el canal hacia la ciudad. Dos de las fortalezas han sido renovadas, las otras dos no.<\/p>\n<p><strong>La Fortaleza de San Miguel<\/strong> es la fortaleza que ver\u00e1s destacada en la mayor\u00eda de esas fotos de postal de \u0160ibenik. Es la m\u00e1s accesible de todas las fortalezas (a 10 minutos a pie desde la plaza principal) y la m\u00e1s popular entre los visitantes. Es el preludio de mi diatriba.<\/p>\n<p>Mientras intent\u00e1bamos entrar en la fortaleza de St. Nicolas, nos encontramos con un chico alem\u00e1n (el \u00fanico otro turista) que nos dijo que hab\u00eda estado hace un par de a\u00f1os y que la fortaleza hab\u00eda estado abierta. No pod\u00eda entender por qu\u00e9 ya no estar\u00eda abierto. Lo que llev\u00f3 a una conversaci\u00f3n sobre la falta de desarrollo en Croacia. Imag\u00ednese si esta incre\u00edble fortaleza estuviera en Alemania o Francia: ser\u00eda una gran atracci\u00f3n tur\u00edstica. Las autoridades lo habr\u00edan restaurado a su antigua gloria. Habr\u00eda un museo en las instalaciones. Ser\u00edan un peque\u00f1o restaurante con vistas al canal hacia el mar. En cambio, b\u00e1sicamente se est\u00e1 permitiendo que esta enorme y gloriosa fortaleza caiga en ruinas. Ves esto por toda Croacia. Ni siquiera creo que se trate solo de restauraci\u00f3n; de hecho, creo que los croatas hacen mal la restauraci\u00f3n (solo mire la fortaleza de San Miguel o la fortaleza de Barone, donde la piedra ha sido reemplazada por hormig\u00f3n. Lo mismo en todo Dubrovnik). A veces se trata solo de cuidar y deshacerse de los escombros. En el \u00faltimo rato hemos estado en las fant\u00e1sticas fortalezas de Klis y Knin que est\u00e1n abiertas al p\u00fablico. Pero ve all\u00ed y encontrar\u00e1s habitaciones llenas de tuber\u00edas de metal y otras cosas dejadas por los trabajadores. Los museos en el castillo pueden estar abiertos o no (el de Klis estaba cerrado por alguna raz\u00f3n, lo m\u00e1s probable es que el tipo que dirig\u00eda el lugar fuera demasiado perezoso para abrirlo). Y el esfuerzo de marketing para promocionar estos castillos es nulo. La gente dir\u00e1 \u00abbueno, Croacia no tiene la cantidad de dinero que Alemania o Francia tienen para restaurar sus castillos\u00bb. Pero como digo, no se trata necesariamente de restaurarlos: se trata de deshacerse de los escombros que dejaron los trabajadores, limpiar la mierda de perro y las colillas que dejaron los lugare\u00f1os. Croacia tiene MUCHOS castillos o ruinas incre\u00edbles que hemos visitado: Klis, Knin, las fortalezas de \u0160ibenik, Starigrad en Omis&#8230; hay muchos otros de los que estamos aprendiendo. En Split, hay la fortaleza de Gripe que alberga el museo mar\u00edtimo (de lo contrario, el resto de la fortaleza es solo un estacionamiento y un lugar donde los perros hacen caca). Se tarda aproximadamente una hora en llegar desde Split. La estaci\u00f3n de autobuses est\u00e1 justo al lado del casco antiguo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; <strong>Alquiler<\/strong>. Alquilamos un coche y encontramos aparcamiento justo al lado de la estaci\u00f3n de autobuses. Siempre usamos <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rentalcars.com\/?affiliateCode=thetravel107&amp;_ga=2.72366163.1196743362.1538389570-415554725.1537244546\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rentalcars.com<\/a><\/strong><\/span> cuando alquilamos un autom\u00f3vil. <em>Advertencia para los conductores<\/em>: mala se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n y algunas callejuelas muy estrechas en \u0160ibenik (si te pierdes como yo. Fue una pesadilla). Si no conoces \u0160ibenik, creo que lo mejor es aparcar el coche en alg\u00fan sitio y explorar la ciudad a pie.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u2013 <strong>Visitar las fortalezas<\/strong>. Puedes caminar hasta St. Michael desde el casco antiguo. Barone y St. John&#8217;s est\u00e1n un poco m\u00e1s lejos (a 15 minutos a pie), pero puedes conducir hasta Barone (por un carril muy estrecho), estacionar y explorar ambas fortalezas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&#8211; <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Alojamiento<\/strong><\/span>.
