Hiking Up Table Mountain, Cape Town – the India Venster Route

Hiking up Table Mountain - the India Venster Route

I’m on a ledge 3 feet wide looking straight down over the edge of Table Mountain. I’ve just come up 10 feet from the last ledge, using metal rungs to pull myself up a sheer rock wall. I look up above and see another 15 feet or so of vertical rock, with a few more metal rungs and a chain at the top. Plitvice Lakes Impressions, Tips and Regrets

I read a lot of blogs and they always help me in planning what to see and how much time to spend somewhere. Photo Essay. Why Kotor, Montenegro, totally blew us away

Why Kotor, Montenegro, totally blew us away

Kotor has been on my list of places to see ever since spotting a photo similar to the above on another blog. So when we left Split last week for a little trip down south, Kotor was the place I wanted to see. Not Dubrovnik, but Kotor. I didn’t tell Spanky that because she hates it when I choose a destination because of a hike  or a “photo opportunity” (as she calls it). I told her we were going to Dubrovnik with a little side trip to a place called Kotor. Like most people she had never heard of it. [Read more…]
