Why we love Nong Khai
We’ve been in Nong Khai a little bit over a month now. We love this town. I’ve previously written about Bangkok and Hua Hin and how they weren’t for us. We were getting a bit disillusioned with our stay in Thailand. Until we arrived in Nong Khai.

I can see why you liked Nong Khai, looks like a great place to settle for a while, rather than just being a passing tourist. Love that the prom gets used in so many ways throughout the day, from restaurant to gym…we’ve seen those outdoor gyms all over Thailand, it’s a great idea, but always far too hot to use! At least that’s my excuse 😉 Not so sure about the garden ornaments though, that sort of thing shouldn’t be allowed! Hope you get to revisit some day.
It’s a place we would always consider going back to if we need to live very cheaply for a while. Imagine, our rent was about $250 US/mo…we saved a lot of money during our stay plus really enjoyed the town. Very nice place.
Wow, fantastic photos! Who would want to go to Chiang Mai? Looks very peaceful…
